Eighty seven stairs connect 4½ storeys of 39 rooms, most furnished lavishly in the style of the era.         The house and gardens are currently being restored to their original specifications so you may find artisans at work when you visit. The self-guided tour starts at the old coach entrance before an easy climb up the stairs to stop on each floor to experience the various rooms. Continue to the tower at the top for a panoramic view of Victoria, the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the snow-capped Olympic Mountains.
