One of Hudson's Bay Company's original self sufficient farms, Craigflower was established as part of the company's obligations in settling Vancouver Island. Today, 150 years later, the original Georgian Manor house modeled on a Scottish ancestral home, still stands amid fields and gardens.

Tours of the restored interior of the Manor provide a fascinating opportunity to learn about the lifestyle of some of British Columbia's first residents to come from overseas. Just across the bridge you'll find the oldest schoolhouse in Western Canada, opened in 1855 for the children of the farm.
Craigflower Schoolhouse is treasured as the oldest surviving public building in British Columbia and is one of the few surviving structures predating the gold rush.
