Learn how, in this microcosm of British Columbia culture and history, trade goods such as furs, salmon and cranberries flowed to ports around the world. The Fraser River gold rush in 1858 attracted people from around the world, leading to the proclamation of British Columbia as a Crown Colony on this spot in 1858. Today you can visit one of the oldest buildings and through hands on activities and exciting daily programming get a true sense of a style of life long past.
