The centrepiece is RCMP schooner St Roch, an Arctic patrol vessel built in 1920 and displayed as it appeared in 1944. St. Roch was the first ship to travel the treacherous North West Passage in both directions and also the first ship to circumnavigate North America.
There’s more hands on fun at the Alcan Children’s Discovery Centre and Heritage Harbour, which displays historic vessels as well as being a stop for today’s local ferry service.
